Massage Therapy is a manual soft tissue therapy that helps aide in your healing and helps maintain your body by providing treatment aimed at reducing muscular tension. All Massage Therapists at Inertia Physio+ are Registered Massage Therapists. Registered Massage Therapists are healthcare practitioners that specialize in manual treatment using a variety of soft tissue release techniques. They are true experts in the soft tissue therapies of the body. Our therapists apply a therapeutic approach, focusing on relieving muscular tension, thereby aiding in your healing and recovery and also maintaining the body. In order to become registered, RMTs must graduate from an accredited post secondary institution, accumulate many hours of training and pass the provincial testing standard. They must maintain their membership with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, an independent body which regulates the service of Registered Massage Therapists.

Lei is a Registered Acupuncturist, who graduated with honours from the International Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine College. She studied ancestral acupuncture techniques from Renshu Liu, a traditional Chinese medicine doctor in China. She has been studying the theory of TCM for many years and has gained a lot of experience in it.

Lei is very patient and will confirm the client’s condition according to detailed consultation, make a specific treatment plan for each individual, and will continue to improve the treatment plan according to the treatment effect.

She also practices Japanese acupuncture diagnosis and gentle needling technique, this softer style of acupuncture is very tolerable.

Lei will determine the best approach for each individual. She generally combines acupuncture, cupping, Guasha, and Moxa in her treatment sessions. She also performs a form of massage treatment called Tui Na Massage.

Jayson Gallahue graduated with a Bachelor of Science – specialization in Athletic Therapy at Concordia University (Montreal, Canada) in 2015, followed by a Master of Science in Physiotherapy at Glasgow Caledonian University (Glasgow, Scotland) in 2018. He immediately began private orthopedic practice in Scotland after being registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (the UK’s governing body), later moving to England and continuing work in the same field. Throughout this time, Jayson has treated patients with a wide variety of orthopedic issues from various sources, such as sports and lifestyle injuries, workplace injuries, and motor vehicle accidents. In 2021, he relocated to his native Ottawa and is continuing work in the orthopedic field with Inertia Physio+.

Jayson’s treatment philosophy aims to take a straightforward approach, while empowering patients to understand and participate in their recovery. This involves hands-on manual therapy, in conjunction with tailored corrective and rehabilitative exercise prescription where applicable. Jayson is comfortable with a variety of industry-standard techniques and uses clinical judgement to determine what may be relevant in each unique case. Natasha Loewen, Registered Physiotherapist - B.HK (honours), MPT

Natasha Loewen graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa. She went on to complete her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at McMaster University.

She is passionate about helping people get back to living life to the fullest, whether it is returning to sports, hobbies, work or even just doing activities with their family. Natasha takes a one-on-one approach with her clients that combines education, manual therapy and exercises to help them achieve their goals.

She also uses Neurokinetic Testing and integrates this technique in her assessments and treatments, offering a unique approach to finding the problem, its cause, and its effect on the whole body. In this way, she is able to prioritize what the body needs most to recover from an injury. Natasha has taken additional course work in Soft Tissue Release. Continuing to learn is important to her and she has a strong interest in pursuing further post-graduate courses to improve her skills in order to provide the best care for her clients.

Andrew Peters graduated from the School of Medical Rehabilitation – Physical Therapy of the Department of Medicine at the University of Manitoba in 2006. Upon graduation, he immediately began practicing in private practice in Barrie, Ontario. In 2009 Andrew relocated to Ottawa and has been working in orthopedic private practice ever since. Through his experience in private practice, Andrew has done extensive work with patients treating work place, motor vehicle, athletic and general lifestyle injuries. Through these avenues Andrew has provided rehabilitation for all ages and activity levels including pre-school children, retirees, weekend warriors and even OHL and professional hockey players. He worked with the Ottawa Senators of the NHL as the home treatment Physiotherapist from 2012-2017.

Sarah graduated with a Kinesiology degree from the Memorial University of Newfoundland, and then went on to complete her Advanced Certificate in Athletic Therapy at Mount Royal College in Calgary. She completed the requirements to become a Certified Athletic Therapist in 2003.

Sarah brings a variety of experience and course work to her clinical treatment. She treats using a strong manual (hands-on) therapy and exercise rehabilitation approach, while focusing on the goals of each unique patient. She uses Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Release, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Mulligan, Muscle Energy, Soft Tissue Release, and Active Isolated Stretching Techniques.

Sara Sheridan is a graduate of McMaster University with a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy. Previous to her Masters, she completed her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria.

As a Physiotherapist, Sara is keen to help her clients reach their health goals. She is interested in orthopaedic injuries in all age groups and levels of activity with a special interest in people with disabilities.

Prior to her studies as a Physiotherapist Sara worked as a personal trainer for athletes with disabilities in Victoria. She was an integral member of the support team for several Paralympic athletes based out of Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence (PISE) and enjoyed the challenge of managing different physical abilities while striving to reach her athletes’ competitive and health goals.

Sara is always looking to expand her skills as a Physiotherapist and has taken post-graduate courses in manual therapy, taping, and dry needling which she uses in combination to help her patients start to feel better and get back to their activities.
